What program should i use?

Dear all,

I want to start programming in combination with websites. I have some basic knowledge in VB6.

What i want to do is build a website with a database so people can acces it from there home. But i also want to buil a program around it for local use (so they won't ave to enter a browser because of te fact i want to have no acces to the outside worl on the pc accept fo the program)

I have heard that .net is better in combination with internet pages but I'm not sure what the advatages are and if the language is very different from VB6. So i can check if the advantages are worth learning a new program.

Why not try out a program called NeoBook. It is a very easy way to create programs, including ones that can utilize network and internet functions. I've crated some really good programs with it over the years. Heck, it even can handle vbscript for all your visual basic fans. Check it out.

By the way, i am pretty skilled at Visual Basic VB.NET, NeoBook and web scripting like CSS, JavaScript and HTML. Looking for some projects to sink my teeth into.
